Stillness of the Sun

Today is another day... the sun rose beautifully amongst the shapely clouds.

My boyfriend, Ben kindly woke up to greet the sun with me and then allowed me to capture him as he sat for his dedicated morning meditation practice.

There is something so enriching about seeing the sun rise.
On a physiological level it wakes up the brain by stimulating hormones that awaken us for our day.
Spiritually it is reflective, peaceful, calm and the world is full of beauty.

It is a rich time to sit and be still. To go within. To meditate. Connect with yourself. With who you are. Your passion and contemplate where you are on your journey and what you wish to offer to this day.

It is a time that I love to pray and bring to mind all of the things I am grateful for in life. Such a warm and humbling experience.

So, here are the photo's from today's Sunrise journey.

Enjoy & Connect to what is deep within you... and let it shine through!!!!! :)

Summer Brekky!

Welcome to the new year, 2012!

It has been a wee while since I last wrote a proper post to share with you other than a few photo's here and there. So upon thinking about the blog today while eating my breakfast, I felt inspired to share what I was having for breakfast with you.

Usually I am a Porridge girl for breakfast. Or simple Papaya.
Today though I felt like something cooling and fresh. Something very alive. And so I made one of my new simple favourite recipes - photographed above and here I am going to share it with you!

Sugar free, Dairy free & Grain free Coconut & Apple Granola!

The ingredients:

- 1 drinking coconut (flesh from inside)
- 1 organic apple
- 1/4 teaspoon of organic cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of organic cardamon powder
- as much toasted shredded coconut as you'd like to use as a garnish.

The process of making it was simple.

1. First scoup the flesh of the coconut out with a spoon and dice into small squares.
2. Cut up your organic apple into small fine squares
3. mix the cardamon and cinnamon into the apple and coconut in a mixing bowl.
4. dry toast the shredded coconut in a stainless steel pot or pan.
5. Voila! Complete... You can now serve it out into your bowl & enjoy the yummy fresh summery goodness of Coconut & Apple!

Happy Eating ~ as the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates famously said:

"Let thy food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food." ~ Hippocrates

Summer Night Glow

Summer nights enjoying the beauty and wonder of Mother natures rich colour pallet as she paints big strokes of gold, purple, pink, yellow and orange across the sky.

I LOVE it. So beautiful and inspiring to witness.

Pastel Full Moon Dream.

There are times when life is not clean cut. When it is easy to feel alone, confused and lost amidst the ever changing, re-arranging and conspiring mysteries it holds.

It is a fact that every one of us experiences an encounter of these feelings in life at some point. I am yet to talk to someone who hasn't felt deeply into the core of their being and asked themselves some big questions or gone through times when they didn't have the answer.

There are phases when these feelings seem to be the main feature/star of the show and take all of our attention, and also times when they are purely just the backdrop of all other experiences to keep us engaged in life's mystery.

Walking bare-foot in soft sand as the sun sets over the mountains and the full moon rises over the sea. The sky painted the color of pink fairy floss merged with lavender. The waves peacefully dibbling and dabbling onto the shore, playful yet gentle. A rainbow. An opalesque full moon. Dreamy clouds still reflecting the glow of the sun. A Whale splashing its tale in the depths of the ocean. Couples walking hand-in-hand, swimming, talking... celebrating the beauty of this picture perfect afternoon/evening.

It is scenes like these, where the beauty, mystery and magic of nature ~ life and creation inspire me to go within... to reflect... to connect... to allow my heart and soul to wander in wonder.

I feel pacified by natures loving arms. Soothed and stilled.

In my experience, to feel any emotion whether it be positive or negative is perfect. It is the universe knocking on the door of your heart to draw your attention back to the source of everything, to the centre, the core. Hearing the knocking and opening the door can lead to some remarkable opportunities of self discovery, growth and expansion.

Life is such a magical mystery. I would like to say thankyou to the sand, the ocean, the moon, the clouds, the sun, the Whales, and the people in my life who color my world!

Namaste x

Enjoy the Full Moon!

They run together...
